Refactoring, Live Demo, State Machines & Future Plans

📝 Demo Update — Now Public!
The demo is officially out of private mode and available for everyone to try! I've updated the game page with screenshots to give you a peek into what’s happening inside the current build.
🔧 Refactoring & Functional Bridges
A lot is happening behind the scenes right now—I'm working on refactoring key systems and building "bridges" between different parts of the game. With Kiro's help, we’ve started syncing critical functions like damage handling and animation. Now that animation is fully supported, those two are finally talking to each other!
🎠State Machine in Action
The state machine—which is embedded in the demo—is now powering enemy animations. It’s a fantastic piece of architecture developed by my professor (huge thanks and props to him 🙌), and it’s really bringing the enemies to life.
đź’» Built with GoLang
Yep, this whole thing is being built in GoLang. That means dev time might be a bit longer than using traditional engines like Unity, UE5, or Godot—but I’m choosing flexibility and control over speed. It’s a challenge worth taking on.
📦 Future Update Pipeline Plans
Looking ahead, I’d love to implement a custom update pipeline—one that patches directly on the client, without relying on Itch.io’s distribution. It’ll take server infrastructure to pull that off, so it’s on the longer-term roadmap.
📌 Next Steps
Progress is steady and things are starting to click. Hoping to release a new version of the demo soon, so keep an eye out!
